December to April--crawling to cruising (6 - 10 months)

This is the second part of the update. Much has happened in the last few months. Olivia learned to stand on her own only a week after learning to crawl at 6 1/2 months. Now at 10 1/2 months she is on the brink of walking. Just yesterday she started to take several steps while hanging on with only one hand. She now has 6 teeth, which she loves to use on everything, especially chicken. And our legs. Yikes. In the past week she has developed a love affair with books. She has a favorite, which she will go to and communicate the wish for us to read it. She sits very still while being read to and fusses when it is over. She even helps to turn the pages when we ask her to. She has a repertoire of several words now, including Mama, Papa, Papaw, Dog, Woof, Duck, Tata, Nana and Boo. Sometimes she combines dog and woof---doof is a favorite word. Enjoy the pictures below.

Olivia learns to stand.

Sitting like a big girl eating cheerios.
Showing off her new walking shoes (only used for standing at this point of course).

Eating leaves with friend Mariana.

The kitchen and the bathroom provide endless entertainment. Everything goes in the mouth these days.

Little caged bird.

Olivia loves a good drumstick.

She lets Mama wear her necklace once in awhile.

She is fascinated with cooking--Papa likes to strap her on and give her a lesson

Titi Tiffany spoils me.

"I'm gonna getcha!"

One last shot of that gummy grin--now she has 6 teeth, 5 of which came in during her 2 week trip to Maryland.

Olivia and Tio Boo Boo.

Olivia discovers Toilet paper.

Olivia and Granny.

Olivia and Papaw watching cartoons.

She loves her cousins Angel Leonardo and Angel Luis.

With Abuela Tata

Olivia's first cupcake.

She is a big fan of music and will even dance by bouncing up and down

Bath time is a favorite past time.

superbly cute...

meanwhile, somce she's reading now... I'll babble on about some of my favorite baby books.

Everyone Poops by Taro Gomi (translated from the Japanese.) The grrrl-comrade gave it to me as a present a couple years ago, because of how much I love to talk about poop. I later bought it for a friend's 1-year-old. Be careful of this one. Kids get addicted to it, because like me, they also are fascinated by poop -- which means you'll have to read it over and over and over and over to them.

Then, of course, there is Make Way for Ducklings, The Little House, and The Snowy Day -- wonderful classics that I've re-read as an adult and still enjoyed.
